- About
We have been supporting families who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing domestic abuse or crisis for 50 years. We wish that families didn’t live in fear. We wish we weren’t needed. But we are and we have been since 1973.
“At home, my dad hit mum so hard that she had to go to hospital. Once my dad threw my mum through a window and then he threw an iron at her head. That’s why my mum hates him and she’s not going back because he hits her all the time.”
We rely on funding to keep our doors open.
It costs £6,267 each week to deliver our services, which includes nursery and after school care and advice and support for families.
To take the children out on a coach trip costs around £500.
Running sports activities costs £95.
Three months of music therapy is £2,125.
We need little things, like books, toothbrushes and toothpaste and boardgames. We have big dreams too, and would love to create a sensory room, garden and dedicated counselling room.
“I spent years living in fear. Nothing I did was right. Sometimes he made the children watch while he beat the living daylights out of me. If they tried to help, he hurt them too.”
Whatever you can give, however big or small, we guarantee it will make a huge difference to the lives of the children and families we support.
